Sums it all up!

The reason so many creative people feel alone, whether they are in a crowd, married, have many many friends, even at the moment of being applauded or recognized for their work… the alone feeling… is this: in our imagination, in our soul, in our music, in our writing, in our photos… is a world that we see/feel/envision in ourselves. We try to express it, to share it… but we know our skill can never truly, perfectly represent what we hear/see/feel. It’s like a parallel universe overlayed on our real life that we try to pull into existence. We can’t be placated, we can’t be made truly at home… because… our home is somewhere only we can visit. So when the ‘real’ world dominates our time/thinking/efforts… we feel torn away from paradise. That’s why we go off, and spend time alone, visiting the place we truly feel at home. Thanks for understanding and maybe…just maybe you can get a glimpse of where we truly exist in peace.

Wing Yip

Took a trip to the Chinese superstore to pick up a few bits. It has been a while since I been, I think I must have been a little kid. My Dad used to take us there often to buy herbal teas and other bits and bobs. Not much had changed, the store layout was still the same.

We felt a little peckish so decided to eat at the  Tai Tung restaurant which is inside the shopping center. Considering the massive queue and waiting for about 20 minutes for a table..(sorry, did I mention having to share a table?) Also waiting 25 minutes for our food to arrive, the food wasn't great at all! To be honest, I could have easily done a runner. Ronnie Corbett was also dining in there, so I thought this restaurant must be something! I wasn't impressed at all.

I did manage to pick up a few bits from the store which was cool. Take a look at my purchases.

I cooked down some of the Tofu last night with Carrots, Cabbage, Red Kidney Beans and Red Onions.
Tasted so good.

'Django'

As it was 'Orange Wednesday' I decided to see the most talked about film out. I was hooked in from the start. I really didn't know what to expect and tried not to read all the reviews. I had to sleep on it to digest all that I had scene.

But I woke up with this feeling 'Django' is possibly Tarantino's most thoughtful, comical and even political film to date. A must watch!!!!

Feels like just the other day we got caught by Mama pinching the sugar from the sugar jar, and what a great pinch we got!

We have shared some of the best times.

Nothing like having a big brother to look up to

Happy 30th big head, your life has only just begun!
