J.Period & Q-Tip: The [Abstract] Best
J.Period doesn’t release mixtapes that frequently, so you already know when he does, he puts a lot of time and work into each one making sure to bring you high quality product. This new one is a sort of a Q-Tip “Best Of” mixtape. J.Period brings together classic tracks, new tracks and exclusive J.Period remixes. As an added bonus, there are also brand new “tribute” songs from De La Soul, KiD CuDi, Blu, ?uestlove, Talib Kweli, Skillz & Consequence. This mixtape has gained a lot of promotional buzz recently with the leaks of a few songs. J.Period is also hard at work on the second volume which is supposed to be releasing quite soon. J.Period is one of the best when it comes to “best of” mixtapes, that are more like mini-albums. They are definitely collectors items. Search the site for the Roots mixtape he did, equally dope.
