GERTRUDE BAINES, THE WORLD'S OLDEST LIVING PERSON, HAS CELEBRATED HER 115TH BIRTHDAY WITH A BIG CAKE.

She was also officially recognised as the world's oldest person by the Guinness Book of World Records.
Ms Baines - who was born in 1894 in Shellman, Georgia - received a letter from US President Barack Obama, who took time out from his busy schedule to wish her a happy birthday.
To put things in perspective, Ms Baines, whose father was the son of slaves, witnessed the invention of the automobile, the age of flight and was 18-years-old when the Titanic sank.
The 115-year-old says she owes her "longevity to the Lord, that she never did drink, she never did smoke and she never did fool around".
Ms Baines made the local news in November when she cast her ballot for Mr Obama in the presidential election, saying she backed him "because he's for the coloured".
She said she never thought she would live to see a black man become president.
Ms Baines' ascension to the top spot came after the death of a Portuguese woman, Maria de Jesus, who was also 115.

NEW ORLEANS - The Walt Disney Co. has started production on an animated musical fairy tale called “The Frog Princess,” which will be set in New Orleans and feature the Walt Disney Studio’s first black princess.The film, set for release in 2009, also is the first hand-drawn film Disney has committed to since pledging last month to return to the traditional animation that made it a worldwide brand.“The Frog Princess,” a musical scored by composer Randy Newman, is “an American fairy tale” starring a girl named Maddy who lives in the French Quarter in New Orleans, said John Lasseter, chief creative director for Disney and Pixar Animation Studios.

JIMMY MIZEN MURDERER JAILED FOR LIFE!

A 19-year-old youth has been jailed for life for murdering schoolboy Jimmy Mizen. Jake Fahri was told he would serve at least 14-years after being convicted at the Old Bailey where he had denied killing 16-year-old Jimmy in a south London bakery last May.

Fahri showed little emotion in the dock as the verdict was delivered but members of Jimmy's family burst into tears and hugged each other as they watched from the back of the court.
The court had heard how Jimmy bled to death after being attacked while buying food at Three Cooks with his brother Tommy a day after his 16th birthday.
Fahri threw an oven dish and a shard of glass cut vital blood vessels in Jimmy's neck.
The court heard that Fahri had not wanted to lose face after picking a row with Jimmy, who was described by friends as a gentle giant.
Jimmy had stood his ground when Fahri had rudely demanded he get out of his way in the shop. His anger grew as Jimmy's brother Harry, 19, suggested he say please.
And he exploded with rage when Jimmy, 6ft 2in and 14st, refused to go outside the shop when 5ft 7in Fahri challenged him.
He went back in and hit Jimmy with two plastic drinks bottles and was further humiliated when the brothers punched him and all three crashed into a glass cake display, before he was bundled out of the shop.
Fuming, Fahri picked up a metal-framed advertising sign and stormed back in after kicking the glass in the door.
Poking Jimmy with the sign, Fahri panicked when the schoolboy grabbed hold of it and was about to pull it out of his hands.
He grabbed the hot dish containing sausages from the counter and threw it in front of him.
Crispin Aylett QC, prosecuting, said: "A trivial incident, brought about by the defendant's rudeness, escalated into something horrific.
"The defendant reached for any and every available weapon with which to attack the Mizen brothers.
"The whole incident lasted no more than three minutes - three minutes of absolute madness on the part of this defendant."
Fahri told the court he did not mean to do serious harm.
He said: "I did not think it would break, let alone hit him in the face. I literally picked it up and slung it in two seconds."

Girls text for morning-after pill

Schoolgirls will be able to request the morning-after pill by text message in a scheme being introduced later this year

Six Oxfordshire schools are to take part in the project after a rise in the number of teenage pregnancies in the county.

Any girl at the four schools in Oxford and two in Banbury will be given the opportunity to ask for emergency contraception if they have had unprotected sex, or their contraception has failed.

Child protection staff will step in if any girl aged between 11 and 13 uses the service.

The text message service will be introduced in July by Oxfordshire County Council and the Oxfordshire Primary Care Trust, which have refused to name the schools involved.

Hilary Pannack, chief executive of teenage pregnancy charity Straight Talking, welcomed the move.

She said: "I think it's an excellent idea. But there needs to be more in place - there needs to be good quality sex and relationship education as well.

"Some girls won't want to talk to people face to face, and the process of getting the emergency contraceptive pill should be made easy for them. It's not going to cause promiscuity.

TO BE HONEST, I HATE LOOSING...I CAN GET VERY COMPETITIVE, THAT'S WHY I TRY NOT TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY GAMES .

BUT MAN, I WAS GIVEN IT PURE TALK.....SAYING HOW PEOPLE SHOULD JUST NOT PLAY AS I'VE ALREADY WON! LOL!!

I WAS WHACK...I DIDN'T GET ANY STRIKES...BUT TRUE SAY I WAS TIRED ANYWAY! LOL!

THEN YESTERDAY WAS OF COURSE MOTHER'S DAY, MY BROTHER DECIDED TO COOK US ALL BREAKFAST!?!

WHY DID HE DECIDE TO PUT BARE ONIONS IN MY SCRAMBELLED EGG?? THEN HE HAD THE CHEEK TO TELL ME THAT THATS WHAT I WANTED.

LATER ON THAT EVENING, THE FAMILY WAS INVITED ROUND TO A FRIENDS HOUSE FOR DINNER.
